HEOP Student Selection

The Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) is committed to offering higher education opportunities to New York state high school graduates and GED holders who do not normally meet admission criteria, but have the potential for success at Keuka College. The mission of HEOP at Keuka College is to provide holistic support to all of our students in an enriched and inclusive community setting. HEOP staff enhance student success by encouragement to build resilience and encourage achievement that leads to success.

HEOP students at Keuka College receive academic and financial assistance that will allow them to successfully earn an undergraduate degree. Sponsored jointly by the State Education Department and Keuka College, HEOP will offer comprehensive academic support services and full-need financial aid packaging.

Applicants must submit the following materials to be reviewed for an admissions decision:

1. A completed HEOP Application found on the HEOP website.
2. A copy of their secondary school transcript or general equivalency diploma (GED); or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC). Note: Applicants’ academic scholarship will be determined based on the secondary school cumulative GPA submitted during the application process. Transfer students must submit all post-secondary transcripts from previously attended institutions.

3. First-time students must have a minimum secondary school GPA of 76 and transfer students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 to be considered.

4. First-time applicants are also required to complete an interview (in-person or virtual) which is a required step prior to consideration for conditional acceptance to the college.

5. Additional information may be required upon request.

Upon graduating from secondary school and before starting classes, accepted students must submit an official and final secondary school transcript, in addition to official transcripts from any institutions from which college credits were received.
