College Record 2022-2023

Religious Holidays

Keuka College is committed to respecting the religious beliefs and spiritual traditions of its entire community of faculty, staff, and students, and will comply with all relevant portions of the New York state law on religious observances. Students unable to attend class because of religious beliefs or observances will be provided an equivalent opportunity to make up any absences, examinations, study, or work requirements with no adverse or prejudicial effects.

A student seeking a religious accommodation to miss class or an assignment should, whenever possible, notify faculty in advance of an anticipated absence and/or contact the College Chaplain for additional support or advocacy.

This process is intended to guide a student who needs accommodations if a religious holiday conflicts with the responsibilities of a student regarding class attendance and/or participation. To avoid last minute complications, students should complete this process ahead of the scheduled absence, leaving time for the faculty and student to make the necessary accommodations.
