NUR-382 Mental Health Nursing

This is a theory and practicum nursing course where the student integrates knowledge based in science and grounded by the humanities which explores mental health concepts and professional role development to ensure a solid educational foundation. Nursing’s unique body of knowledge is used to apply and implement evidence-based care for persons (individual, families and communities) with mental health issues, including psychosocial concepts; cultural, ethical, spiritual and legal influences. Special emphasis is placed on reflective practice and a collaborative team approach to provide holistic patient care across the lifespan.
