ENG-130 Great Books: Beginnings † *

This course will examine great works of literature drawn from the beginnings of the Western literary tradition, including representative selections from both the Judeo-Christian scriptures and the classical tradition of Greek and Roman literature. Complementary texts from other cultural traditions may also be included at the instructor's discretion. The course will evaluate works through an understanding of their cultural contexts, their influences, and their genres.
