The Bachelor of Science degree in Biology provides a highly rigorous curriculum intended to prepare students for careers as scientists, or for which a very strong knowledge of science is necessary. With this degree, graduates can pursue careers in areas such as pharmaceutical R&D, molecular diagnostics, biological/biochemical analysis, human biology, environmental biology, forensics, or many others. Graduates from the BS Biology program will be well-prepared to succeed in advanced degree programs. The BS degree in Biology is also the ideal program of study for students who intend to become physicians, veterinarians, dentists, optometrists, pharmacists, physician assistants, etc. Electives both in and out of the sciences allow the student to tailor their courses toward their specific career goals.
Major Requirements
Complete all of the following:
Science Electives
Complete 12 additional credits from BIO CHM or ENV with at least 4 credits at the 300/400 level.
Field Period:
Summer Field Period recommended after the junior year.

>Achieve a minimum major GPA of 2.00 unless otherwise specified by the major.
>Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 unless otherwise specified by the major.
>Complete a minimum of 120 total credits.
>Complete Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) requirement: BS 60 LAS / BA 90 LAS
>The student is ultimately responsible for ensuring that all degree requirements are met satisfactorily.
