Institutional Search Policy
In order to ensure the safety of the Keuka College community, prevent theft of College and personal property and/or enforce college policies, Keuka College reserves the right to conduct searches of any person, vehicle or object that enters onto college property, only when there is reasonable suspicion that a policy or legal violation has occurred by the Office of Campus Safety. Searches of vehicles will be conducted only with the approval of the President of Keuka College or their designee.
Property that is found to be illegal to possess will be turned over to local law enforcement and/or destroyed. Found property that is against college policy to possess on campus but is legal will be confiscated and held by the Office of Campus Safety until arrangements can be made to remove them from campus. If the property is not removed by the end of the semester, then property will be logged into lost and found and held according to lost and found protocols.
