POL-360 War, Peace and Security

This course focuses on the causes of international conflict and the evolution of political orders in the international system. We will examine domestic and structural factors that impinge on the formulation of strategy and foreign policy, along with the analytical tools that can help us make sense of aspects of conflict and cooperation. Topics include historical and contemporary trends in war and peace, terrorism and counter-terrorism, foreign policy-making, power transitions, and economic and human security.
