IMR-401 Information Risk Management

Information Risk Management involves assessing, measuring, and managing information risk in today’s organizations. In this course, we will review the most contemporary literature as it is still developing on this topic as well as engage students in a case study that will allow them to make connections between the academic literature and actual practice.  Goals of this course include the following: defining risk in the context of information management; identifying discrete types of risk and relevant approaches to management; discerning risk appetite related to context; integration of personnel with information management; and applying academic concepts into practice through a case study process.
