CMP-350 Management Information Systems

This course serves as an introduction to information systems concepts and applications in business. Topics include software, hardware, decision support and knowledge based systems, database, information systems design and implementation, and the management of information systems. By the end of this course, the students will have the following knowledge and skills:

1. Understand the relationships between the use of information systems and business productivity.

2. Be able to provide overviews on a variety of special information systems, such as Business Intelligence, Geographic Information Systems, operating systems, etc.

3. Know protocols, standards, and standard-setting agencies and organizations in information systems.

4. Understand the practice and relevance of information systems auditing and governance.
