BUS-430 Legal, Ethical, Regulatory Business

This course addresses the diversity implications as a normal and necessary part of business decisions in the legal environment. It offers a view of the legal environment of business from the broader perspective of not only the law and its theory, but also how it works in practice taking into consideration the factors of ethics and diversity. The goal of this course is to equip students for the legal, ethical, regulatory, and diversity implications of the business world they will move into, so that their decisions do not result in surprising, expensive, protracted, and embarrassing litigation that could have easily been avoided. By the end of this course, students will have the following knowledge and skills:

1. Understanding of what law is and what it is designed to do.

2. Understanding of the interplay between law, equity, morals, and justice.

3. Knowledge of the various areas and different classifications of law.

4. Understanding the role and importance of ethics in business.

5. Understand the interplay of the law and regulation in the business environment.

6. Understanding how diversity may play a role in business and legal issues.
