SS-402 Sr Seminar in Applied Social Sciences

This capstone course involves the overview, synthesis and re-examination of academic and experiential learning in the major while anticipating a career and/or further education. A close examination of a topic (e.g. social policy, comparative criminal justice systems or new directions in Criminology, Criminal Justice or Sociology) allows for a summary, reassessment and critique of the major discipline's knowledge base and its applications as embodied in the coursework required in the major. Students will generate a portfolio representing course-work and major-related experiential learning. They will engage in self-assessment, learning-consolidation and reflection in order to apply insights to future activities.
