College Placement Exams

To ensure that students are enrolled in a class that most clearly fits their skills, experience and needs, the College administers the following placement tests to all new incoming students:

• A self guided English and Writing assessment
• A math placement test. All transfer students (excluding AOE and in-country international students) who do not have transfer credit for a course meeting Keuka College’s Quantitative Reasoning requirement must take the Mathematics Placement Exam.
• American Sign Language (ASL) video recording. Students pursuing degrees in ASL and ASL/INT programs are required to submit a video before class begins to determine placement in the appropriate language courses.
• There is no fee for these examinations and no academic credit is awarded.
