EDU-385 Teaching in Kindergarten

This course is an intense, deeply concentrated course of study across al the domains needed to become a knowledgeable kindergarten teacher. The course builds upon the candidate's previous knowledge and experiences as they gain knowledge and skills necessary to create an appropriate learning environment in kindergarten. Theoretical underpinnings, as well as planning and assessment techniques unique to teaching kindergarten are examined. Related topics included in this course include: child development, inquiry- based thematic curriculum planning and implementation authentic formative assessment as well as informal screening assessment, appropriate and positive behavior guidance, and an examination of a foundational educational philosophy.

Complete EDU-371 and EDU-312 OR EDU-309 and EDU-310.
