SWK-640 Advanced Theory in Play Therapy

This three credit elective course provides an in-depth understanding of the history and theories of play therapy. Emphasis is placed on the understanding of the roles of therapists and parents through the play process. Diversity and multicultural considerations for theoretical perspectives are highlighted.  The course also provides students with an opportunity to learn and practice specific play therapy techniques for different theoretical perspectives.
