The Biology – Organismal Studies major is a great place for new students to start exploring the many fields in Biology. This major is designed to offer the greatest flexibility in choosing upper-level biology electives and, at the same time, ensure that students are well-prepared for any field of biology after graduation. The curriculum for the Biology – Organismal Studies major is designed to provide a well-rounded education while preparing students for state/federal/not-for- profit positions or graduate school in almost any field of biology. However, this major is particularly well suited for students interested in zoology, botany, field biology, or ecology.

Take 8-9 major elective credits from BIO/ENV/CHM 300+ level courses.
Complete:
Take 1 course from the Field Skills Group:
Select from BIO-331 BIO-360 ENV-320 ENV-330
Complete:
Take 1 course from the Cellular Form and Function group:
Select from BIO-207 BIO-310 BIO-353 CHM-310
Complete:
Take 1 course from the Organismal Form and Function group:
Select from BIO-305 BIO-342 BIO-343 BIO-351 BIO-370
Field Period:
12 credits
General Electives:
Complete all additional credits that are required to meet the 120 cumulative credit hour requirement.
Remaining credits must fulfill INS, Lab Science, Liberal Arts, General Education, and Electives coursework.
