New York State Programs
The following is a list of New York state programs for which students enrolled at Keuka College may qualify. Unless indicated, students apply by submitting a FAFSA (or renewal FAFSA) and a New York State Electronic TAP Application. Generally, after all eligibility requirements have been met, funds are credited (one payment per semester/per term) to the student’s account. Additional information and criteria specific to each program are listed here.
NYS Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
This entitlement program is based on New York state net taxable income for New York state residents attending college full-time in New York state.
Maximum Annual Award: Based on current award schedules, awards for first-time recipients range from $500 - $5,165 for dependent or independent undergraduates with dependents. Single independent student (no dependents) awards range from $500 - $3,025 per year.
TAP award amounts are dependent on action taken in annual state budget negotiations. Figures above are for the 2015-2016 award year.
NYS Aid for Part-Time Study Program (APTS)
This grant program is for New York state residents enrolled for 3-11 credits per semester, with awards based on New York state net taxable income. Application: in addition to FAFSA, submit Aid for Part-Time Study Application. Contact Keuka’s financial aid office for an application.
Maximum Annual Award: Varies; limited funding available.
Part-Time TAP
This grant program is for students who were a first-time freshman in the 2006 – 2007 academic year or thereafter that are taking 6 to 11 credits who in the previous academic year have earned two consecutive semesters of 12 credits each (24 credits total) and maintained a “C” average.
Maximum Annual Award: Varies
NYS Aid to Native Americans
This grant program is for students providing documentation as a member on an official tribal roll of a NYS tribe or as a child of an enrolled member. Awards are available for two-, four-, or five-year programs. Deadline for summer is May 20, fall is July 15; spring is December 31.

Maximum Annual Award: $2000 for 12 or more credits per semester. Pro-rated amounts are available for students taking less than 12 credits at $85 per credit. Students must re-apply each semester and maintain a 2.0 GPA.
Veterans Tuition Award
This program is for undergraduates and graduates meeting New York state residency requirements who served in the armed forces in Indochina between February 1961 and May 1975 and meet other eligibility requirements. Persian Gulf veterans who served in hostilities beginning Aug. 2, 1990 or Afghanistan veterans who served on or after Sept. 11, 2001, may also be eligible. Students must demonstrate good academic standing and meet the College’s guidelines for satisfactory progress in their program. Application: in addition to the FAFSA, and the New York State TAP Application, students must file a Veterans Award Supplement available from the New York State Higher Education Service Corporation (NYSHESC) at (888) 697-4372. Deadline is June 30 of the academic year the award is sought.
Maximum Annual Award: Actual tuition costs or SUNY tuition costs, whichever is less for full-time study.
Veterans: Keuka College is approved by the New York State Department of Education for the training of veterans and other eligible persons.
NYS Math and Science Teaching Incentive Scholarships
This program is for undergraduates and graduates who agree to serve five years of full-time employment as secondary math or science teachers. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher and must execute a service contract in which they agree to serve. Students may not hold both the Federal TEACH Grant and a NYS Math and Science Teacher Incentive Program award at the same time. Application: In addition to the FAFSA, a student must complete the NYS TAP application.
Maximum Annual Award: Actual tuition costs or SUNY tuition costs, whichever is less for full-time study.
NYS Scholarships for Academic Excellence
This program provides scholarship assistance to outstanding NYS high school graduates. Awards are based on student grades in certain Regents exams. Application: To apply, see your high school guidance counselor.
Maximum Annual Award: Up to $1,500 per year for up to five years of undergraduate study.
Senator Patricia K. McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarship Program
This program offers awards on a competitive basis to applicants who are registered professional nurses enrolling in graduate programs that will qualify them as nursing faculty or adjunct clinical faculty. Students must be registered nurses professionally licensed to work in NYS and agree to practice as nursing faculty in NYS for four years. These awards are available for up to three academic years of graduate study. Application: Must complete the FAFSA, NYS TAP application and McGee Nursing Faculty Program Supplement.
Maximum Annual Award: The cost of attendance up to $20,000 annually or the average SUNY cost of attendance, whichever is less.
Regents Awards for Child of Veteran
This program is for children of veterans who are deceased, 40 percent or more disabled, a former prisoner of war or missing in action as a result of service during certain specified conflicts. Student must be a U.S. citizen, a New York state resident, study full-time, and be matriculated at a college in New York state.
Application: In addition to the FAFSA and a New York State TAP Application, student must complete the Award Supplement, available on request from NYSHESC at (888) 697-4372. Deadline is June 30.
Maximum Annual Award: $450 per year for up to four years, or five years in certain programs. Awards may vary.
Segal AmeriCorps Education Award
This program is for students who have successfully completed their term of service in accordance with their member contract in one of the following approved AmeriCorps programs: AmeriCorps State and National, AmeriCorps VISTA or AmeriCorps NCCC. World Trade Center Memorial Scholarship
This program is for children, spouses and financial dependents of deceased or severely and permanently disabled victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks or the subsequent rescue and recovery operations. This includes victims at the World Trade Center site, Pentagon or on flights 11, 77, 93, or 175. New York state residency and U.S. citizenship is not required. Undergraduate students must be full- time and matriculated in an approved program in New York state. Submit documentation to: HESC Scholarship Unit, 99 Washington Avenue, Albany, N.Y. 12255. Maximum Annual Award: At a private institution, an amount equal to SUNY four-year college tuition and average mandatory educational fees and allowances for room and board, books, supplies and transportation.
Flight 587/ Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarship
This program is for children, spouses, and financial dependents of individuals killed in the American Airlines flight 587 crash in Queens, N.Y. Nov. 12, 2001 and the Continental flight 3407 crash in Buffalo, N.Y. on Feb. 12, 2009. Students must be enrolled full-time in an approved program in New York state.

Military Enhanced Recognition Incentive & Tribute Scholarships (MERIT) aka Military Service Recognition Scholarship
This program is for members of the armed forces of the U.S. who were New York state residents and at any time on or after Aug. 2, 1990, became severely and permanently disabled as a result of injury or illness incurred in a combat theatre or combat zone of operations. Children, spouses and financial dependents of armed forces member may also be eligible. Student must be enrolled full-time in an approved program in New York state. Deadline is June 30.

Maximum Annual Award: For 2015-2016, on campus students $22,487 and off campus $15,037.
Memorial Scholarships for Families of Deceased Firefighters, Volunteer Firefighters, Police Officers, Peace Officers, and Emergency Medical Service Workers
This program is for a child or spouse of a deceased firefighter, volunteer firefighter, emergency medical service worker, police officer, or peace officer who died as a result of injuries sustained in the line of duty. Student must meet the same criteria as Child of Veteran award and submit supporting documentation. Student must be enrolled full-time in an approved program in New York state. Deadline is June 30.

Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) – ACCESS-VR
This program, for students with disabilities, provides vocational rehabilitation and independent living services to eligible persons. Students should obtain information about this program at www.vesid.nysed.gov.
