Student Handbook 2022-2023

Breaks and Summer Housing

The residence halls and apartments will be closed during scheduled College breaks. Students are expected to vacate the campus for the duration of these breaks. If you are someone that plans on staying over any break, you will need to be living in a certain building to be able to stay. These buildings are as follows: Ball, Davis, Harrington, and either of our apartments. If you are not living in one of these places, you will not be able to stay for a break.

The rate for summer break 2022 housing and the remainder of the 2022-2023 academic year is $210/week (no daily rate). An optional summer board plan is an additional $210/week.

The residence halls and apartments will close at the end of classes on the last day of classes before the break period begins and will re-open at 1:00 p.m. the day before classes resume. The Office of Residence Life may accept requests for students who need to stay beyond the closing time. These requests must be made in advance of the break to the Office of Residence Life.

The Geiser Dining Commons will be closed for student use during these scheduled breaks. The Wolf Den Café will have limited hours during these scheduled breaks.

Students may be asked to stay in a room that is not their own, due to limited Residence Life staffing and buildings that have been closed down for the break period.

Students are expected to check out of their rooms prior to leaving, close all windows, lock their door, and unplug all appliances, with the exceptions of personal refrigerators, when the break is more than four days long.

Field Period® & Summer Housing

  • Summer housing is held traditionally in either Blyley, Saunders, or Space Halls.
  • Housing will be available during Field Period® and summer for Keuka College students who are completing Field Period® requirements, taking courses at Keuka College, and/or working on campus.
  • The rate for summer break 2022 housing and the remainder of the 2022-2023 academic year is $210/week (no daily rate). An optional summer board plan is an additional $210/week.
  • Each student remaining on campus for the summer and/or Field Period® must complete a housing agreement. If there is an interruption in the period covered by the housing agreement, it is the student’s responsibility to notify the Director of Residence Life or their designee of their plans. Failure to do so results in the student being charged through the departing date as stated on the housing agreement.
  • Students in summer housing are expected to follow the Student Handbook and the Student Code of Community Standards during this break period. Students in summer housing are expected to be courteous and mindful of prospective students and their families, as well as conference guests, who are visiting or staying at the College over the summer.
