Honors within Academic Disciplines

Honors in a discipline (major) is awarded to seniors who fulfill the requirements specified by the individual disciplines and, in the case of student-initiated majors, by the student’s advisory committee and at least one additional faculty member. Students usually indicate their plan to meet the requirements for disciplinary honors during the spring semester of the year preceding graduation.
