HIS-360 History of New York State

This course examines the social, political and cultural history of New York state from the Iroquois, through the Dutch and English Colonial periods, to the 21st century. Topics include indigenous political and social structures, British colonial political society, the American Revolution in New York, the religious revivals in the Burned-Over district, New York state's contributions to the economic development of the United States, and New York City's rise and eminence as a symbol of America's 20th century global hegemony.
