EDU-308 Teaching in Inclusive Early Childhood

This course emphasizes the role of the teacher as decision-maker; one who manages the instructional/learning environment so as to achieve optimal outcomes of all students, with an emphasis on students with disabilities in inclusive settings. Candidates will have an opportunity to create specially designed instruction for students with disabilities in the regular education setting, as well as in other settings. There is an emphasis on the preparation of IEPs and the concomitant materials. As distinct feature of this course is an examination of the relationship between the regular and special educators and the need for collaboration to insure positive learning outcomes for all students.
