EDU-358 Adolescent Literacy II

The follow-up course to EDU-357 focuses on identifying diverse adolescent learners using assessment of literacy skills as they relate to content areas. Students will learn about the major theories and research related to the structure and acquisition of language in order to help English language learners (ELLs) develop language and literacy and achieve in the content areas. Assessment, diagnosis and remediation are major components of this course. Students will demonstrate understanding of issues and concepts of assessment by developing their own case study in a clinical setting.
