College Record 2018-2019

Credit by Examination

Under certain conditions, Keuka College grants credit toward graduation based on College Proficiency Examinations (CPE) administered by the New York State Department of Education, the College Level Examinations Program (CLEP) offered by the College Board, the International Baccalaureate Examinations (IB), or the DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSSTs) offered by Service Members Opportunity Colleges (SMOC).

Credit is granted to students who meet the entrance requirements and who matriculate in a program leading to a degree. The granting of credit does not necessarily guarantee that all prerequisites for advanced study have been met. Students who have completed work in lower-level courses by examination are urged to consult with a departmental adviser before registering for advanced work in a subject.

A full-time student may be eligible to earn credits through any of the above-mentioned examinations upon approval of the registrar.

Advanced Placement (AP) Credit

Keuka College encourages prospective students in secondary schools to take the AP examinations sponsored by the College Entrance Examination Board. In most instances, students who receive AP scores of three, four, or five are awarded credit, which may be applied toward their degree requirements based on review by the individual degree requirements.
