The Biology – Biomedical Studies major is for those students who are interested in pursuing a career in health and veterinary-related fields. The Biology – Biomedical Studies curriculum is designed to prepare students for further study or careers in medicine, pharmacy, veterinary science, dentistry, optometry, and many other health-related professions. Besides taking courses in biology, students are encouraged to take free elective courses that are appropriate for the professional field they are interested in, such as sociology, psychology, and business management.
Major Requirements
Complete all of the following:
71 credits
Complete:
4 credits of 300+ level BIO/ENV/CHM elective coursework.
Field Period:
12 credits
General Electives:
Complete all additional credits that are required to meet the 120 cumulative credit hour requirement.
Remaining credits must fulfill INS, Lab Science, Liberal Arts, General Education, and Electives coursework.

- Complete 90 Liberal Arts Credits
- Achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.00

- Complete one field period for each 30 Keuka College credits
- Complete the general education and major requirements
- Complete one INS-301 course
- Complete one laboratory science course
The student is ultimately responsible for ensuring that all degree requirements are met satisfactorily.
Summer Field Period recommended after the junior year.
