College Record 2016-2017

Digital Studies

The minor in Digital Studies is designed to enhance digital learning and digital thinking among Keuka College’s students. It can be paired with and augment any existing major at the College, whether in professional studies or the liberal arts.

Digital thinkers are critical thinkers who understand how digital tools work (both their limitations and their possibilities) in order to enhance problem-solving and creativity. Digital learning is effectively using digital tools to improve learning, and discovering how digital tools can be used to solve problems and support creative endeavors.

The Digital Studies minor will allow students to expand their digital literacy; understand and use digital media more intentionally; practice fundamental concepts in coding; analyze, interpret and communicate effectively the meanings that may be derived from digital data; integrate and enhance their own major’s content and practice with digital tools and thinking. The minor can hone critical thinking skills, foster creativity, and promote interdisciplinary thinking and applications.
