CPS students are typically employed full time during the day; thus, the program is offered in the evening at most locations. Courses are delivered in an accelerated, blended-learning format. You’ll move through each course as a group–creating opportunities for networking and support.An atmosphere of shared family, career, and interests develops camaraderie among our students.
A cohort is a class comprised of approximately 8-25 students who progress through their degree program together. Students build a strong support network and often cite this as one of the most positive factors for their success in the program. Students who succeed in our programs are self-directed and goal-oriented individuals.
The CPS format enables adult students to develop:

•self-reliance and leadership skills
CPS Undergraduate Application Requirements
1. Completion of approximately 60 transferable credit hours from Keuka College or another accredited college/post-secondary institutions and/or accredited programs.
2. Nursing applicants must have a current Registered Professional Nursing License (RN). Applicants must be working in a nursing position for at least 20 hours per week while in the program.
3. Social Work applicants must be employed, at least part time, in a human service related position and have a minimum of two years experience working in human services. Applicants are required to submit employment verification.
4.Cumulative grade point average in prior academic coursework of at least 2.00 on a 4.00 scale for Social Work, Organizational Management and Criminal Justice Systems and a 2.50 on a 4.00 scale for Nursing.
5.Submission of all official college and military transcripts for transfer evaluation.
6.Additional credits required beyond the major are not to exceed 18 credit hours (organizational management, criminal justice and nursing), after the completion of any required prerequisite courses. A maximum of 6 credit hours beyond the major are permitted to enroll in the social work program.
7.Completion of the Keuka College health and meningitis forms.
8.Completion of the admission form and payment of the non-refundable admission fee.
9. Successful completion of an interview with a representative from the CPS, as needed. 10. Payment of the required enrollment deposit.
11. Submission of final High School transcript or GED certificate
Conditional Acceptance
Conditional Acceptance will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Conditional acceptance to any program is at the discretion of the program director and associate vice president for professional studies. All terms of the conditional acceptance will be outlined in the student’s letter of acceptance. Students not meeting the terms of a conditional acceptance, as outlined in their letter of acceptance, will be administratively withdrawn from the program. After a student is administratively withdrawn from the program, s/he may no longer attend classes and is responsible for all costs incurred while a student at Keuka College.
The student must have completed the following in order to be considered for conditional admission:
- demonstrated strong writing skills, and/or
- demonstrate a substantial and sustained employment history, and/or
- meet with a representative from the Center for Professional Studies to discuss the number of hours needed beyond the degree, and
- receive a preliminary evaluation of transfer credit/graduation audit.

Applicants for graduate study must have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum grade -point-average (GPA) of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale). Students not meeting the minimum standard may be admitted into the program on a conditional basis (see Conditional Admission).
Keuka College utilizes a self-application process. Students who wish to apply for graduate study must submit the following items to the Center for Professional Studies.
1.Application form with non-refundable application fee.
2. Personal/professionals goals statement.
3. Essay as described in the application (not required for nursing applicants).
4.Two letters of recommendation from those who can attest to your potential to be successful at graduate level work.
5.Official transcripts from all colleges previously attended.*
6. Current resume.
7. Health forms.
8.The results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (for international students).
9.Copy of nursing registration/license number (for nursing only).
10.Personal interview and on-site writing sample, if needed.
11. Some programs have additional application requirements as outlined on the graduate application and our website. 12. Payment of the required enrollment deposit.
The College may admit students to the graduate programs on a rolling basis up to the start of each semester. However, to ensure a smooth and effective enrollment process, Keuka College encourages potential students to apply early.
Incomplete application files will not be considered for admission and therefore delay the student’s acceptance into a graduate program.
All documents submitted as part of the application process become the permanent possession of Keuka College and cannot be returned to the applicant or forwarded to a third party.
Complete application files will be forwarded to the appropriate graduate program. The program director will then review the academic background and qualifications and will make appropriate recommendations for admission status. Students will receive official notification of acceptance or denial from admissions.
*Official transcripts must be submitted in a sealed envelope bearing the signature of the College Registrar across the seal of the envelope. All accepted students (matriculated and non-matriculated) are required to file an official, degree-bearing transcript with the registrar’s office before they are permitted to enroll in classes.
Conditional Acceptance
Conditional Acceptance will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
